Mark Stein, M.D. F.A.C.S.
Dr. Mark Stein has been in practice since 1990. He graduated from Yale
University School of Medicine and completed a residency in urology at Albert
Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Stein received
specialized training in incontinence and neuro-urology at UCLA and the
University of Michigan. In addition to general urology, Dr. Stein specializes
in the treatment of incontinence, voiding dysfunction and erectile dysfunction.
From 1990 to 1996, Dr. Stein was an Assistant Professor at the Albert Einstein
College of Medicine. During this time, he conducted research, published numerous papers in academic
journals and presented research at many national and international urologic and surgical meetings. He
received research awards from the American College of Surgeons and the American Urological Association.
Dr. Stein joined the practice of Dr. Fruchtman (retired), Marks and Berman in 1996.
Dr. Berman are
now partners of Advanced Urology Centers of New York,
a division of
Integrated Medical Professionals, PLLC.
Dr. Stein currently operates and has privileges at Beth Israel Medical Center, Weil Cornell
Hospital / New York Presbyterian Medical Center and New York Westchester Square Medical Center.
He is a member of the New York Section and the National American Urological Association, a Fellow
of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Society for Urodynamics and Female Urology,
Society of Prosthetic Surgeons, New York Medical Society and numerous other professional organizations.
He served on the Quality Improvement Committee of Oxford Health Plan and United Health Plan.
Dr. Stein is married and has two children. He enjoys hiking and travel, and to his wife's chagrin, computers.
Steven M. Berman, M.D.
Dr. Steven Berman has been in practice since 1986. He is on staff at Beth Israel
Medical Center, New York Hospital, Cornell and New York Westchester Square
Medical Center. In addition to practicing general urology Dr. Berman has a
interest in kidney, bladder and prostate cancer and minimally
office based procedures.
Dr. Berman graduated from State University of New York - Downstate Medical
Medical Center in 1981. He then interned in General Surgery and completed his
Urology residency training at Montefiore, Albert Einstein Medical Center in 1986. In 1990, after four years
in private practice in New York and the Bronx, Dr. Berman joined Urological Associates - Dr. Bernard
Fruchtman and Dr. Jon Marks. With the addition of Dr. Mark Stein in 1997 and the retirement of
Dr. Fruchtman in 1998 the practice is currently known as Advanced Urology Centers of New York.
Society memberships include: American Urological Association, New York State Urological Association,
Association of Clinical Urologists and the Medical Society of New York State and New York County.
Dr. Berman is Board Certified by the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Berman is married and has three children. He enjoys most sports,
tennis and skiing.
